Blomidon Provincial Park is only 1 km from the Lyons. While there you can go hiking, picnic at the picnic park near the entrance at the bottom of the cliffs of Cape Blomidon.

If you are a flower lover, you could spent an afternoon at Canning Daylily Gardens just outside the village of Canning. This is a seasonal delight with the daylilies in bloom from mid-July to mid- August. The best time for blooms depends on the season. You can purchase daylily plants on site, and most of their many varieties can be viewed on their website. 11 kms from the Lyons'.
